Like most Irvine residents… I’ve been amazed (and frustrated) that the city is 10 years and $200 million into building the Great Park… with little more than a balloon to show for it.
That’s why when I recently read the OC Register article which covered the offer from Five Points Communities to spend $175 of it’s own money to quickly complete the Great Park in exchange for just receiving approval on the area’s next housing phase… I thought it was great and our city council would be insane to not take them up on it.
So to help the Irvine City Council feel confident that this is an opportunity that thousands of Irvine residents want to see them take advantage of… we’ve formed the “Build the Great Park… Now!” coalition of residents and community leaders.
If you agree that it’s time to get the Great Park built… and want it done without using anymore taxpayer dollars… then please Sign Our Petition to show you support the council making this no-brainer decision and approving it at their meeting on October 8th, 2013.
